Basotect Foam is a perfect acoustic solution for the architectural acoustics industry due to its high sound absorption, fire resistance, and thermal properties. It is an open-pore melamine foam that helps to ensure pleasant room acoustics even when retrofitted. It can be used in it’s ‘raw’ state (grey/white) or covered using a variety of facings, it can even be directly printed onto or painted. These lightweight absorbent allow large scale, free floating elements to be implemented into your projects, offering an attractive room design.

Basotect Panels are manufactured with a thickness tolerance of ±3 mm and a length and width tolerance of ±5 mm, ensuring consistent quality and dimensional reliability.

Basotect Foam is an open-cell melamine foam renowned for its exceptional sound absorption, fire resistance, and thermal insulation. It is lightweight, fibre-free, and can be used in its natural grey/white form, fabric-wrapped, or printed for visual effect.

Panels are available in 25mm, 40mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm thicknesses, with modular dimensions to suit various acoustic systems.

Basotect delivers Class A absorption performance, with NRC values reaching 1.00 at optimal thickness.

  • 25mm: Class D absorber
  • 50mm–100mm: Class A absorber

This makes it suitable for reducing reverberation and echo in a wide range of architectural settings.

Yes. Basotect® Foam is certified to:

  • DIN ISO 13501-1:2010 C–S2, D0 / M1 / Class 0
  • BS 476 Class 0 fabrics available

It also complies with DIN 4102 Class A, offering outstanding flame resistance.

Panels can be direct-fixed, suspended, or framed, and may be fabric-wrapped, printed, or painted. The material’s light weight allows for large-scale floating ceiling rafts and wall panels without heavy fixings.

Standard lead time is 10–12 working days, depending on configuration. Panels are pallet-shipped for protection. All Basotect foam products come with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty covering material and workmanship defects.

Basotect is a formaldehyde-free, CFC-free, and low-emission acoustic foam. It is chemically resistant to moisture, alcohols, hydrocarbons, and diluted acids, with long-term stability and non-toxic indoor performance (DIN 4102 Class A). Its durability and recyclability make it a sustainable alternative to fibreglass-based acoustic materials.

Samples are available upon request for both raw and fabric-faced finishes. Because Basotect products are made to order, returns are not accepted unless the product is defective.
