What is the difference between Montage™ and Medley™ panels? Montage™ panels are fabric-wrapped acoustic panels made with a Basotect G+ melamine foam core and feature a self-adhesive backing for quick and easy installation. In contrast, Medley™ panels use a glass wool core with a fabric finish but do not include a self-adhesive backing, requiring alternative fixings. What’s the difference between Basotect G+ (melamine foam) and Glass Wool Core?
- Basotect G+ (Melamine Foam): This lightweight, open-cell foam is renowned for its excellent sound absorption and fire resistance. It is non-fibrous, does not shed particles, and offers a cleaner finish, making it ideal for environments where air quality and low maintenance are priorities. The self-adhesive backing on Montage™ panels also makes installation simpler and provides a secure bond.
- Glass Wool Core: Glass wool is a dense, fibrous material known for its high sound absorption and good thermal insulation properties. It is typically heavier than melamine foam and requires additional fixings for secure installation. While it offers excellent acoustic performance, glass wool may release fibres when cut or handled, so it requires more care during installation.
- Montage™ (Melamine Foam Core): Basotect G+ provides excellent absorption of mid to high frequencies, making it well-suited for controlling reverberation and reducing echo in speech-heavy environments like offices, meeting rooms, and classrooms.
- Medley™ (Glass Wool Core): Glass wool offers broader frequency absorption, particularly effective in environments with a wide range of noise sources. Are other fabric types and colours available?
Our standard fabric is Camira Lucia, though we can produce panels with alternative fabrics upon request.
Do you make this product in custom sizes?
Yes, while we offer a standard selection of popular sizes, it’s possible to customise the shape of the Montage™ EasyFix panel to meet your specific requirements. However, there are limitations regarding shape and maximum size due to weight and panel dimensions. The largest panel size available is 2500mm x 1200mm with a thickness of up to 300mm. Please contact us to discuss the possibilities.
Do you offer a price guarantee?
Yes, we offer a price guarantee on all our melamine foam products. As a licensed partner of BASF, the original manufacturer of the foam, we can provide the most competitive rates. If you can supply a formal quotation for a like-for-like specification from a competitor, we will beat it.

The number of Montage™ EasyFix panels you'll need depends on the dimensions of the space and the desired level of acoustic coverage. Here’s a simple guide to help:
- Measure the Area: Calculate the total square footage (or square meters) of the wall or ceiling where you’ll install the panels.
- Panel Size: Check the dimensions of each Montage™ EasyFix panel to understand how much area one panel will cover.
- Coverage Percentage: For moderate sound control, covering about 30-50% of the surface area is usually sufficient. For higher sound absorption (e.g., in studios or performance spaces), consider covering 70% or more.
- Calculate Panel Quantity: Divide the total area you want to cover by the area each panel covers to estimate the number of panels needed.
Where should I position my panels?
The best placement for your Montage™ EasyFix panels depends on the acoustic issues you want to address. For general noise reduction and better sound clarity, position the panels at primary reflection points—these are areas where sound bounces off the walls first, such as directly opposite speakers, or on side walls in meeting rooms and offices. For spaces with significant echo or reverberation (like large rooms or high ceilings), consider placing panels on both walls and ceilings to maximise sound absorption. If you’re dealing with noise from next door, you may need additional soundproofing solutions, such as wall insulation or barrier panels, to block the sound effectively.
What is the process for installing Montage™ EasyFix panels?
Montage™ EasyFix is our most straightforward acoustic system to install. To begin, peel off the backing sheet to reveal the self-adhesive layer, align the panel on the wall, and press firmly to secure it. For freshly painted or dusty, unclean walls, it's advisable to prime the surface with a contact adhesive for a more reliable bond. On clean, uncontaminated walls, you may opt to use a light layer of wallpaper paste for added flexibility, allowing small adjustments during positioning to achieve the ideal alignment. If you’re affixing the panel to the ceiling, always apply a contact adhesive to prime the ceiling first, ensuring a secure and lasting installation.
What surfaces can I install Montage™ EasyFix on?
When installing Montage™ EasyFix panels, it’s important to select the right mounting surface to achieve a secure, lasting installation.
Can I remove or reposition Montage™ EasyFix panels?
The EasyFix panel is intended as a permanent installation; once positioned and the adhesive has set, it cannot be repositioned. If you’d prefer a removable option, please send us a message and we will provide a quotation offline. You can install this product without self adhesive using 4 stick pins per panel, available in the fixings section on this page. Should you wish to make the installation permanent later on, you can secure the panel to the wall with either a contact adhesive or TACFIX tube adhesive.
How long does EasyFix adhesive last?
When properly installed on a suitable surface, the EasyFix panel remains securely in place for many years, delivering consistent acoustic performance. In fact, we have installations that have been in excellent condition for over 15 years. However, it’s important to consider the specific environment. In hot, humid conditions, there is a risk of the panels delaminating. For example, in kitchens where panels are exposed to steam, the lifespan of the self-adhesive may be reduced due to moisture exposure. To mitigate this, applying a contact adhesive as a primer on the wall can help ensure long-term stability.
What is Montage™ EasyFix made from?
Montage™ EasyFix panels are constructed with a Basotect G+ melamine foam core, which has a density of 9 kg/m³, making it lightweight yet highly effective for acoustic treatment. Basotect G+ is an open-cell, flexible foam renowned for its exceptional sound absorption, reducing echo and enhancing sound clarity. Additionally, it offers excellent fire resistance, meeting strict safety standards, which makes it suitable for a wide range of environments. Each panel is completed with a durable fabric face and features a self-adhesive backing for easy installation, providing both functionality and a sleek appearance.
What is the acoustic performance of Montage™ EasyFix panels?

What are the Montage™ EasyFix Eco credentials?
Montage™ EasyFix panels feature a Basotect® G+ melamine foam core, made in Germany, with several eco-friendly credentials:
- Low Emissions: Basotect® G+ meets OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 requirements in product class I, ensuring minimal emissions and safety for direct skin contact.
- Eco-Friendly Production: Manufactured without the use of halogenated hydrocarbons, flame retardants, or toxic heavy metals, Basotect® G+ production has a reduced environmental impact.

Is this product fire rated?
Yes, Montage™ EasyFix core board has been tested and meets DIN ISO 13501-1: 2010 with a C - S2, D0 fire rating. Additionally, a Class O fire rating to BS476: Part 6 and 7 is available upon request, as well as compliance with BS 6853 Annex D.8.4 and BS 6853 Annex B2. The fabric facing complies with: Sonus EN13501-1 Class B, s1, d0, and Cara Class 1 to BS476: Part 7 and EN13501-1 Class B, s1, d0.
Can I order a sample?
Yes, you can request a samples. Simply contact us directly or visit the sample section on our website to place your order.
How does my product arrive?
Your delivery will arrive carefully packaged and secured, transported on a vehicle suitable for the size and weight of the shipment. Typically, the panels are unloaded by hand unless a specific vehicle type has been requested. Please note: if the order volume is large, the products will be shipped on a pallet. This pallet is non-returnable, and you will need to arrange for curb side unloading. In some cases, a tail lift may not be available, so please plan accordingly. If you have any special requirements at your site or premises, let us know when placing your order so we can discuss the best options.
What is the delivery time?
The standard delivery time is 10-12 working days (around 2 weeks). Since each fabric-wrapped product is handcrafted, we can't provide a rapid Amazon-like service.
